Taj Mahal - John Mathai

A saga of regal love enshrined
In annals of history eternally ascribed
A romantic interlude of passionate kind
Of a king and queen beloved entwined
King of a land besieged Shah Jehan
Of beauty and grace Queen Mumtaz Mahal

Taj Mahal at Agra an edifice memorable
Made of marble a cenotaph parable
The mausoleum a magnificent splendor
That enraptures all in awe and wonder

The wonder of the world Taj Mahal
A masterpiece absolutely symmetrical
Stands lone on the river bank Yamuna
A fascinating sight and setting  ethereal

The marvel white it glows in moon light
It is a dazzling spectacle of extreme delight
From all over the globe tourists arrive
To fulfill their dream and extol

The work of art incomparable
Intricate carving and aesthetics admirable
Studded with lapis lazuli and gems precious
A monument for one most adorable

Foreign Nationals coming to India hoping to experience the exotic and intrigue. Though the country does not fail them, the system exasperates them. 

My Guests Nicke & Paul at Courtyard House in Kanha 

On the tiger safari, the road at Kanha was closed for n number of days and we could not explore the park well for tigers. Nevertheless, we could see the elusive sloth bear, bison, and magnificent sambar stag.  

The journey ahead to Agra was washed down with 4 hours train delay at Jabalpur and it reached Agra nine hours late.  Good times followed at Jaipur and more to come at Goa. Flight to Goa was delayed but the lovely beaches will wash off the experience.

Indian Adventure

Experience India from close to know India better. For those accustomed to sterilized physical comfort, India exists only as a sightseeing destination amazing at that sure. See Taj Mahal at Agra, visit the historical monuments of Delhi, see Kahjuraho temples and live like a Maharaja in Rajasthan.

For those who can bow down low to grass root level and bear the discomfort that creeps in at times India exists as incomprehensible diversity that survives. It is a trubid sea of ups and downs, tragicomedy and bundle of delights, hope and hopelessness.

A travel volunteer serving at grass root level experiences India at much closer distance then a traveler who travels in five star comfort and gets a bird eye view of the country. Volunteering enriches on with a perspective that is truly Indian...not adultrated with western norms and attitudes. It is in rural society of the less fortunate that India exhibits it true colors. Seek an Indian nonprofit organization or an Ngo and let your journey begin...serve and discover India.
